At Smith Riches we are deeply committed to training and professional development and every year we recruit a number of graduates to train as Chartered Accountants.

Our trainees work on a wide range of client work: from audits of large companies with multi-million pound turnover to the preparation of the accounts for small owner managed businesses. Early exposure to different aspects of the role enables them to quickly develop their skills in a supportive environment.

As well as on-the-job training, our trainees attend professional development courses with the HAT Group of Accountants. These courses allow them to develop both technical and non-technical skills, whilst sharing their experiences with accountants from different firms, often forming life-long friendships along the way.

Our trainees are all undertaking the ACA qualification with the ICAEW. The firm supports them through every aspect of the qualification. Tuition for exams is arranged with a leading training provider.

With hard work, and the firm’s support, our trainees have every opportunity to successfully become members of the ICAEW and have a solid platform to take the next steps in their accountancy career.
